Why are you seeking elective office?
NH and Merrimack is at a crossroads and needs Strong Leadership skills with Fresh Ideas and Current Real World Experience with deep Business knowledge to Lead today in Concord and go on Offense at the Statehouse. I will do that and be an honest voice at the front of the pack for Merrimack voters and all my constituents who sent me there twice before. I am humbled by the outpouring of suport I have received all summer long on the campaign trail and welcome all in Merrimack to reach out and let their voice be hear to me and I will carry it to Concord. I believe in fair representation, smaller government, keeping taxes as low as possible to deliver adequate services and to return excess back to the people who paid it. I believe in maximum Local Control, Preserving Individual Freedom, the Right to Privacy in our Homes, and our Doctor’s offices and Churches. I am running to Protect those Rights and the Rights of Families and Parents and to Preserve the New Hampshire Advantage.
The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
The NH Advantage is threatened by those who want to tax and spend and pass unnecessary laws, and make government bigger and make it harder to do business in our state. I will vote against any State Income tax or Any Broad Based tax in NH. I will oppose any Unfunded Mandate and uphold Article 28a of our NH Constitution as I did before in my first two terms in the Statehouse. One of the pressing issues facing Merrimack is still our water quality threatening our property values across the Town. Those responsible must be held accountable, and many questions remain to be asked, and even some questions remain unknown. I believe we need to further investigate and of course Protect Our Environment for the future of our children. There is much we do not know on this subject. One thing we know for certain is we can work hard to be vigilant that the same mistakes do not happen again.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I bring Current Real World Business experience gained from active recent Leadership knowledge in industry coupled with the only Statehouse experience on the Commerce committee on the Ballot on either side of the aisle in my race. My passion for improving patient outcomes in healthcare, coupled with knowledge of business and entrepreneurship set me apart as an extremely hard worker with a proven voting record from prior service who will represent the Town of Merrimack well in the Statehouse.
If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)
I will not speak of others failures during my campaign, only stay positive on how I can best represent Merrimack. Others have and do serve honorably for our town. I believe others on the opposite side of the aisle differ ideologically about how taxes should be raised and spent and I am happy to debate those ideals. Many others running agree in principal on many of the issues and are closely aligned, with subtle differences on others. I am proud to run alongside most of my Republican colleagues.
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform.
I support Parental Rights - letting parents be parents. I support Educational Freedom Accounts, Defense of the 2nd Amendment and the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. Would not Support Sanctuary Cities in New Hampshire. I support Individual Freedom in NH and the Principals as defined by the Founders under the 10th Amendment - The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. I will protect our Rights to Privacy and work to Ensure Ballot Integrity during our Fair Election Process.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I have built businesses, large and small, I have 9 patents in various fields for commercialized products in medical devices and some in the consumer space. I am the chief commercial officer for a public company. And I have served 2 terms before in the Statehouse, before anyone else in my race. In my first two terms I passed HMO Reform bills, viatical settlements out of subcommittee, AED access, Defined Emergencies, Moved EMS Laws from HHS into Fire Standards, and even put “Live Free of Die” on the State Quarter. I worked hard enough to make it through a 12 person Primary election as a 26 year old and I have learned many lessons in business since then, and will bring them all back to Concord to serve Merrimack and make my constituents proud. After 30 years of residency, longer than most anyone on the ballot on either side, I am humbled and privileged to be part of this campaign process, and ask for your Vote on Tuesday Sept 13th and Nov 8 to send me back to Concord as your State Representative once again.
The best advice ever shared with me was:
Just work harder than everyone else but when you get down remember this - Credited to several famous people including Elon Musk and Denzel Washington: "You'll
never be criticized by someone who is doing more than you. You'll always be criticized by
someone doing less.”
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I won’t stop working hard and I will lead on offense for Merrimack and be a voice for my constituents using all the knowledge I have gained in 30 years of Merrimack NH residency, 25 years of Current Real World business experience and 2 prior terms in office. Thank you for your support on Sept 13 and Nov 8. Vote Tim McGough for State Rep.
