Tucker Forms Congressional Exploratory Committee

Greenland state Rep. says New Hampshire needs a new voice to solve Washington's old problems.

State Rep. Pam Tucker, R-Greenland, today filed paperwork to form an Exploratory Committee for Congressional District 1, according to a press statement.

The mother, businesswoman, and state legislator stated that she was motivated by a her previous work solving problems without raising taxes or creating new government bureaucracy.

“New Hampshire families continue to suffer from a dysfunctional Washington, D.C. and its politicians who kick the can down the road,“ she said. “ New Hampshire deserves a new voice to solve Washington’s old problems.”

Tucker flirted with the idea of a congressional run in 2013, but ultimately decided against a run. She called herself a proven conservative with a reputation for empowering individuals and local communities to solve problems. Tucker said she would stress reining in the excesses of a bloated federal government during this exploratory phase.

“I formed this Exploratory Committee to learn more about the concerns facing the people of the First District,” she added. “ We must find ways to break the gridlock and offer positive solutions to the problems that have confronted this country for too long. Our country will never solve these entrenched problems by sending the same people to Washington. It’s time for a change.”

In the Legislature, Tucker was the previous chairwoman of the House Republican Alliance, the longest running caucus in the House that focuses on passing legislation that supports the U.S. and New Hampshire Constitutions and the Republican platform. Tucker, of late, has also been critical of the nation’s current immigration policies, calling on leaders to answer questions and offer solutions to the problems. She has been a past critic of the Affordable Care Act and a supporter of right-to-work legislation.
