Turnpike Crash Sends Four to the Hospital

Merrimack Fire, NHSP sent to Exit 10 after a vehicle reportedly struck a tractor-trailer truck on the northbound side of the highway.

MERRIMACK, NH – Merrimack Fire and Rescue teams and New Hampshire State Police were sent to a crash on the Everett Turnpike at just before 3:30 p.m. on June 27, 2016, for an accident with injuries.

The crash occurred on the northbound side of the highway near the Exit 10 toll booth after the vehicle reportedly made contact with a tractor-trailer truck. The car then veered off the road and into the grass, according to reports from the scene.

“The driver was trapped in the car due to impact damage, and there was three special needs passengers in the auto who were very upset by the accident,” according to Jeffrey Hastings of Frame of Mind Photography, who took these photos. “Merrimack Fire Rescue patiently removed each of the passengers spending time to calm them and work with them, then removed the driver of the car.”

Everyone involved in the crash was reportedly taken to Catholic Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries and the crash is being investigated by the NHSP.
