Union Leader to Romney: 'Release the Tax Returns'
Conservative NH newspaper calls on Mitt Romney to 'take the heat, and move on.'

The conservative Union Leader, in its editorial this morning, is calling on Republican presidential nominee-to-be Mitt Romney to release his tax returns.
Excerpt:
"This campaign is not about his wealth. And it is not about the amount he has paid, or not paid, in taxes. It is about vastly different views of America — and America’s future.
Unfortunately, as long as some voters believe there is something the presumptive Republican nominee is attempting to hide, the true debate takes a back seat. It’s time to get the inevitable over with. Release the tax returns, explain them, take the heat, and move on."

Joseph W. McQuaid, the newspaper's publisher, was never exactly fond of Mitt Romney. His front-page editorials in 2008 skewered the former Massachusetts governor, likening him to a liberal Ted Kennedy. In the 2012 cycle, McQuaid endorsed Newt Gingrich for president.
What do you think? Should Romney move quick and release more than two years of tax returns? Leave a comment below.
