Vehicle Off the Road Leads to OUI Charges

Merrimack Police arrested Melissa Lamontagne at the intersection of Thornton Road West and Tinker Road on Sunday.

MERRIMACK, NH - A local woman was arrested after reportedly driving off the road during the weekend, according to police.

Melissa Lamontagne, 21, of Vanden Road in Merrimack, was arrested on Feb. 14, 2016, for operating under the influence-liquor, operating under the influence-liquor aggravated per se, and unlawful possession of prescription medication.

On Sunday, police were sent to the intersection of Thornton Road West and Tinker Road for a report of a vehicle off the road. When they arrived, they spoke with the operator, Lamontagne, who allegedly showed signs of impairment. After a conducting an investigation, she was arrested.

“While Lamontagne was being processed she was found to be in possession of prescription medication without a prescription,” according to Sgt. Eric Marquis of the Merrimack Police Department.

Lamontagne was processed and released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail. She’s due in court next week.
