Vermont Man Faces DWI Charges

Merrimack Police arrest Louis Quirion allegedly with an open container on the Daniel Webster Highway.

A Vermont man was arrested earlier this week after allegedly getting caught driving erratically in Merrimack, according to police.

Louis Quirion, 57, of Coventry, VT, was arrested on June 21, 2015, and charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated per se, and open container.

According to a report, Merrimack Fire and Rescue teams reported a Ford Explorer with Vermont plates “operating erratically on Daniel Webster Highway.” Police were able to catch up to the vehicle and alleged that it made several motor vehicle infractions and was pulled over.

“Upon the officer making contact with the driver identified as, Quirion he detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath as well as signs of impairment,” Sgt. Dennis Foley of the Merrimack Police Department.

Quirion was arrested after an investigation that included field sobriety tests. An open container was allegedly found in the car so that charge was also added to the arrest. Quirion was release on $2,000 personal recognizance bail and is due in court on July 2.
