VIDEO: Sheriffs Go With Ovide

All 10 county sheriffs in New Hampshire back Lamontagne, say he will bring leadership, respect to the office.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Ovide Lamontagne received the endorsement of all county sheriffs in New Hampshire.

On Oct. 18, nine of the 10 sheriffs got together for a short press avail at the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council to show their support for Lamontagne and explain why they were endorsing him.

Belknap County Sheriff Craig Wiggin, the president of the New Hampshire Sheriff's Association, said Lamontagne “came to us early in his campaign” adding that he wanted to continue to make New Hampshire “the safest state in the nation.” He said that the most important factor in endorsing Lamontagne is that he was “a leader … who treats people with respect,” something, Wiggin said, the sheriffs had not always seen at the Statehouse.
