Volunteers and Cheers at UNH for Bernie Sanders
3,000+ supporters crowd Bernie Sanders' latest town hall event
Long lines blanked Main Street in Durham on Sunday, September 20th as thousands of UNH students and supporters awaited the doors to open at the Field House for Presidential Candidate Senator Bernie Sanders’ latest town hall event.
Uproarious applause from the over 3,000 people in attendance filled the room following Sander’s talking points including free public college tuition, pay equity for women, and a path to citizenship for our country’s undocumented immigrant population.
In a move to re-join the political process and show my support both UNH and Bernie, I volunteered to help out setting up for the event.

For my first volunteering experience for a political campaign, I had a wonderful time. Volunteering was easy and fun!
I helped build our campaign table, handed out Bernie signs to hold up at the event, and signed the crowd in with my free “express check-in” service. About 2 dozen volunteers were there last night, and every single one played a huge part in making it a successful and a great event.

After I graduated from UNH-Manchester in May 2014, I have always been looking for opportunities as an Alumnus to come back. Events like these give me great pleasure to return, and I am proud to be involved, and support UNH’s efforts to raise student interest in politics.
