Want to Run for Office? These Seats Are Open

The filing period opens in a week.

It's just a week until the filing period opens for candidates to submit their names to run for public office. There are six seats open on the town side and 11 on the school side.

Candidates will have from the start of the workday on Feb. 20 until 4:30 p.m. on March 1 to file for open seats, listed below.

  • Town Council, two seats, three years
  • Ethics Committee, two seats, three years
  • Library Trustees, one seat, three years
  • Trustee of the Trust Funds, one seat, three years
  • School Board, two seats, three years
  • School Planning & Building Committee, two seats, three years
  • School District Budget Committee, four seats, three years
  • School District Moderator, one seat, three years
  • School District Clerk, one seat, three years
  • School District Treasurer, one seat, three years.

Town office candidates file in person at the Town Clerk'’s office, 6 Baboosic Lake Road. School office candidates file in person at the SAU 26 office, 36 McElwain St.

Candidates will be elected at the polls on April 9. Polls are open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at James Mastricola Upper Elementary School. The school deliberative session is on Wednesday, March 6, at 7 p.m. Town deliberative session is at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13. Each will be held in the JMUES APR.
