Wanted Man Arrested After Vehicle Stop

Man wanted on receiving stolen property charge earns duplicate charge when police nab him on bench warrant. The following information was supplied by the Merrimack Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

A Manchester man was arrested on Monday after say the stopped a motor vehicle for a minor offense and discovered there was a warrant out for the passenger.

Jason Morrissey, 25, of 198 Grove St., Manchester, was initially arrested on Sept. 12 for failure to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court on Aug. 8 for a felony receiving stolen property charge, police say.

Morrissey was searched and arrested and upon looking at Morrissey's possessions at the police station it was determined a debit card in his pocket did not belong to him, police say.

The owner of the card was contacted and it was learned the card had been stolen from their car in Manchester earlier in the day, police say.

Morrissey was charged with receiving stolen property, released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and turned over to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department.

Christopher Nadeau, 30, was arrested early Thursday morning, Sept. 15, after police were called to a Tanglewood Drive residence for a report of a possible domestic assault.

Residents of the address informed police a domestic assault had taken place and the alleged assailant, Nadeau, had left on foot, police say. After searching the neighborhood, police eventually found him, they say. He was charged with domestic simple assault and, because he was on parole for an earlier, unspecified charge, Nadeau was placed on $1,000 cash bail and put on a 72-hour hold by his parole officer. He was scheduled to be arraigned later the same morning in the Ninth District Merrimack Court.

On Wednesday, Sept. 14, James High, 46, of 12 Brookfield Drive, was arrested for operating after suspension. Police say an officer who recognized High and knew his license had been suspended for operating under the influence of liquor spotted High operating a motor vehicle on Haise Way.

High was transported to the Merrimack Police Department where he was processed and place on $2,500 personal recognizance bail. He was ordered to appear in Merrimack's district court on Oct. 4.
