Welcoming summer at the Independent Karate School

For many people, Memorial Day means that summer is here.  For others, summer might begin with the day that you put out the hummingbird feeder, or the first time you break out the shorts.

At the Independent Karate School, summer seems to start with the return of our college students.  And this week in Merrimack, we had a sighting!  One of our third-degree black belts (a newly minted college graduate) was kind enough to come in and help teach during a fairly brief visit home, and we were very glad to see him.

With a little extra manpower in our instructor ranks, summer is a great time to start learning the art of self-defense at the Independent Karate School.

All year around, our master teachers are assisted by other qualified instructors whenever possible, to allow our students to receive as much personal attention as we can give them.  In the summer, the addition of our college kids to the instructor pool is great fun for our younger students, who love learning from these accomplished young adults.  Our dedicated high-school-age black belts, who sometimes have to miss class during the year due to minor obligations like writing research papers or taking the SAT, will also be available to teach in greater numbers.  All things considered, beginners in particular can really benefit from summer classes at the IKS.

If you would like your children to learn to defend themselves while developing in body and mind, there is no better time to start! Feel free to observe any scheduled Independent Karate School class, with no prior arrangements needed. Our classes in Merrimack meet every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 6 pm, at the VFW post near the Common Man. For a complete class schedule and more information, please visit www.independentkarateschool.com.  Hope to see you soon!
