To the Editor:

Merrimack voters, please join me at the election polls on November 8 to vote for Wendy Thomas for NH State Representative.

I’ve known Wendy for 26 years, as a friend, as a working mom, as a fellow volunteer, and as a NH State Representative who was elected in 2018.

As the working mother of 6 children who were educated in the Merrimack Public School system, and who are now young adults with jobs and living expenses of their own, Wendy understands priorities.

Wendy understands the importance of a quality public education and will work to protect funds for public schools and special education without added burden on our property tax. As State Rep, Wendy worked on a budget (that passed) that fully funded public school.

Wendy understands the importance of lowering the cost of living. New Hampshire needs more affordable housing, and we need to lower energy costs by investing in domestic renewable energy.

Wendy understands the importance of clean, safe drinking water. Wendy was a founding member of Merrimack Citizens for Clean Water, and helped establish a Citizen’s Advisory Committee (CAC) with St. Gobain and town leaders to plan ongoing corrective and protective action. Wendy’s contributions as a State Rep helped advance a bill which was signed by Governor Sununu that limits maximum contaminant levels for PFAS in drinking water.

Wendy understands the importance of health care, and has worked on a bill that was rolled into another and signed by Governor Sununu for Lyme insurance coverage.

Wendy’s work is not done. The Town of Merrimack and the State of New Hampshire needs balance in its leadership. We need someone who will work hard to protect our water, our air, our schools, our budgets, our health, our rights and our NH Advantage. Please vote for Wendy Thomas on November 8.
