What Would You Like to See Move in Here?
Share your input on what you want for the future of Merrimack.
Last week, Merrimack Patch is kicked off a new weekly column called "Visions for Vacancies," where we provide you with a snapshot of various vacant commercial and retail spaces around town and ask what you think should go into that space.
The fun of it is that it really becomes a wish list of the things people want to see come to town, realistic or not. It's fun to dream, right? We know a new supermarket tops that list, but what else do you think would make Merrimack a better, more fun, convenient, or interesting place to live?
Feel free to be creative. It could be a long shot, but perhaps your idea kicks around another idea that actually becomes a viable option.

Our first week, we asked what you'd like to see replace the old Zyla's. Suggestions included, Market Basket, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. Other suggestions included an ice rink for the hockey team and for public skating, a sports complex and a Planet Fitness. We're always accepting suggestions, but we're also moving on.
This week, we want to know what you'd like to see go into the former space where the Zoots dry cleaning company was.

The empty property at 370 Daniel Webster Highway, sits next to the old Shaw's plaza, which has plenty of vacancies of it's own.
According to the website for the property's listing agent, the NAI Norwood Group, the space is listed as office, free-standing building, restaurant, street retail and other.
There is 2,400-4,800 square feet of retail space available for $2,200 to $4,400 a month rent. The building can be rented as one or two spaces. There is also a two lane drive up window and plenty of parking.
So what say you? What would you love to see replace the old Zoots? Share your suggestions in the the comments section below!
