Wilton Man Arrested for Road Rage

Merrimack Police: Timothy Simpson cut off a motorist on the turnpike, blocked and confronted the vehicle on Bedford Road, yelled, spit, too.

A local man is scheduled to be in court later this month after a road rage incident on the Everett Turnpike in the middle of last month.

Timothy Simpson, 49, of Prince Street in Wilton, was arrested on May 31, 2015, and charged with simple assault, reckless conduct, and disorderly conduct.

According to police, on May 18, 2015, at around 1:30 p.m., dispatch received a complaint from a motorist about a road rage incident.

The driver alleged that Simpson had cut off the caller’s vehicle near Exit 12 on the Everett Turnpike. Both vehicle got off the highway and while on Bedford Road, Simpson allegedly stopped his vehicle in the middle of the road and confronted the other driver.

“Simpson shouted profanities at the driver and then spit on them before driving away,” according to Sgt. Brian Levesque of the Merrimack Police Department. “Police were able to identify the driver and a warrant was issued for his arrest.”

Simpson came into the police station yesterday to turn himself in on the active warrant. He was arrested and processed, and released on personal recognizance bail. Simpson is due in court on June 11.
