Woman Injured in Crash, Arrested for OUI

Merrimack Police arrest Cheryl Simonson after incident on New Year's Eve.

A local woman is scheduled to be in court next week, according to police, after being arrested for operating under the influence of liquor on New Year’s Eve.

Cheryl C. Simonson, 52, of Indian Rock Road in Merrimack, was arrested on Dec. 31, 2015, for OUI-Liquor.

Police were sent to the entrance of the Indian Rock Condominiums for a report of an accident.

When they arrived, police found a car crashed into a tree. The driver – Simonson – sustained minor injuries due to the crash and was transported to Catholic Memorial Center with non-life threatening injuries.

“During the investigation of the crash, officers learned that alcohol was a factor,” according to Officer Chris Dowling of the Merrimack Police Department, “and after Simonson was released from the hospital, she was transported to the Merrimack Police Department and charged with one count of OUIL-Liquor.”

Simonson was released on personal recognizance bail and is due in court on Jan. 14, 2016.
