Working hard at the Independent Karate School

At the Independent Karate School, all of our students know the following question and answer by heart: "What's the most important thing for going up in rank?  A good attitude."

A good attitude is composed of many different elements, but one of them is the willingness to work hard.

Our students vary widely in their age, size, personality and physical abilities.  Fortunately, the belt system used at the Independent Karate School allows each student to progress at his or her own pace: when the student is ready to learn new material or practice at a more advanced level, it's time for a promotion.  But this doesn't just happen. The student has to work at it.

For my own kids, I think this experience has been very valuable.  They are learning that patience, perseverance, and focused effort are all important to success.

This Monday we will celebrate Labor Day, in honor of the working people of this country.  The Independent Karate School will observe the holiday too, with no classes at our Nashua location on either Saturday the 31st or Monday the 2nd.
