Youth Grapplers Head to Massachusetts

The Merrimack Youth Wrestling Program had six wrestlers take home medals at the Chelmsford Youth Wrestling Tournament held at Chelmsford High School in Chelmsford, MA on January 11th, 2015. Individual results were as follows:

First grader Cayden Dine rolled through his bracket winning three matches, two via pin, to bring home 1st place honors.

Second grader Ivey Johnson recorded her first pin of the season enroute to a second place showing.

Sixth grader Anson Dewar won two matches before dropping a heartbreaking one point loss in the finals, netting him a second place finish.

Kindergartener Kael McAloon finished in third while fellow kindergartner Collin Schuster finished fourth.

Third grader Mitchell Krupp fought hard in the select bracket to bring home a fourth place medal.

The Merrimack Youth Wrestling Program is part of the Merrimack Youth Association. It strives to provide a safe recreational activity for Merrimack children in grades K-6. The program promotes the sport of wrestling, the world’s oldest sport, by providing a safe practice environment, by delivering high quality instruction, and by facilitating tournament competition opportunities. The Program is in its 9th season and currently has 40 wrestlers on its roster.
