MILFORD, NH — Blue Seal Farm & Home plans to expand and renovate its Milford East store at 274 Elm St., a project the company said will bring the products and services now split between its East and West locations together under one roof.

The company said construction is expected to be completed by Dec. 1.

According to Blue Seal, the East store will grow from 3,400 square feet to 5,100 square feet. The West location at 351 Elm St. will remain open during construction, then transition operations to the expanded East store once the renovation is complete and the space is ready for customers.

The company said the larger store is meant to make shopping more convenient by combining pet, wild bird, lawn and garden, seasonal, and select home goods in one location. Blue Seal also said the added 1,700 square feet will allow for a broader assortment and greater inventory depth across key categories.

“This project is about elevating the customer experience by creating a stronger, more modern Blue Seal destination that better serves the needs of our community today and into the future.” Dan Putnam, the store manager for the Milford Blue Seal Farm & Home, said.

Blue Seal said the renovated East location will include features from its “Store of the Future” concept, including a dog wash, product sample station, community board, record player area, children’s offerings and other additions. The company said the store will also keep its drive-thru service and include two ADA-compliant entrances, one serving the Garden & Farm Center and the other the Pet & Wild Bird Center.

The West location became part of Blue Seal in 2023 through the company’s acquisition of Achille Agway, a longtime family-owned retailer. According to the company, combining the East and West locations builds on the farm, home, pet, and garden history of both brands while creating a larger, updated destination in Milford.

More information about the renovated store and its opening will be shared as construction progresses. The company is part of Blue Seal Retail, LLC, which is in the Kent Worldwide family of companies.
