About the artist:

Olivia MacDonald is a Boston-based artist whose pen and ink drawings have captivated audiences worldwide since 2018. Known for her deeply expressive, monochromatic designs, Olivia shares a collection of over 1,800 pieces on Instagram (@inkbyolivia), each reflecting her personal experiences and observations. Her intricate fine-line drawings combine thought-provoking depth with a playful, often whimsical nature. In addition to original artwork, Olivia offers a range of prints, vinyl stickers, temporary tattoos, and hand-screen-printed apparel featuring her designs.

Olivia’s artistic journey began in a deeply personal way. She started drawing with ink to support her cousin in Switzerland, who was struggling with depression. By creating a new piece every day, she hoped to uplift him and help him see beauty and positivity amidst challenging times. This daily ritual became the foundation of her artistic practice, with each piece reflecting both personal healing and a universal message of finding light in darkness.

At the heart of Olivia’s work is the belief that art doesn’t need color to convey depth, emotion, or meaning. Her minimalist approach uses black and white to highlight contrasts in life, capturing moments of beauty, reflection, and resilience.

Olivia’s art has resonated globally, inspiring followers, collectors, and collaborators alike.
