Sex Offender Arrested for Child Pornography

UPDATE: Milford Police charged Thomas F. Richards, 52, with five felony counts. He is a registered sex offender – having been convicted in 2005 of eight counts of child pornography.

A Milford man and registered sex offender was arrested and charged with five counts of child pornography March 22, in a joint investigation by Milford police and the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Police said Thomas F. Richards, 52, allegedly had electronic media containing child sexual abuse images.

Richards is on the state's criminal offender list – he was convicted on Feb. 28, 2005 of eight counts of child pornography, according to the state's sex offender registry.

After a search warrant was executed at his residence, 15 Amherst St. #4R, investigators seized electronic equipment and related media that allegedly had the images.

Richards is being held on $100,000 cash bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Milford District Court on March 25.

Additional charges may be filed, police said.

The New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force was assisted by officers and resources from Portsmouth, Greenland, Hampton and Concord police departments.
