Eighth-Grader Named NH ‘Governor For A Day’
Chris Pyle of Hollis Brookline Middle School will join Gov. Chris Sununu on June 3, at the Statehouse in Concord.

CONCORD, NH — A middle-schooler from the southern part of the state has won the 2019 Governor For A Day Contest. Chris Pyle, an eighth-grader at the Hollis Brookline Middle School, won the contest and will be sitting in with Gov. Chris Sununu, R-NH, on June 3, working through all the day’s responsibilities and activities. In his application, Pyle said improving Internet access in rural areas of the Granite State as well as building on Sununu’s technology education efforts were top priorities.
"I am looking forward to spending the day with the governor and experiencing state government in action,” Pyle said in a statement.
Sununu said there were more than 200 applications submitted by from people around the state to fill the role and that he was excited that Pyle would be with him next week. Pyle's entry application can be read here in .pdf format.

"The 'Governor for a Day' contest is an exciting and unique opportunity for the next generation of New Hampshire leaders to explore their passion for the Granite State's long and proud tradition of public service," Sununu stated.
