Hillsborough County Caucus – Getting Ready for 2014!!
The Hillsborough County Caucus will be held next Saturday, June 15 in the Milford Town Hall, starting at 9:30AM. Election of officers and seven at large members to a two year term will be the first order of business. Following the election there will be breakout sessions on areas of interest (see below).
Coffee 9:30-9:45
Election 9:45-10:00
Most current board members are willing to serve another term, but there are some vacancies, including the post of Secretary.
The four officers and seven at large board members elected at the caucus will also become members of the NHDP State Committee which meets twice each year.
Nominations for these positions will be taken from the floor, and all registered Democrats, residing in any of the 29 towns of Hillsborough County will be entitled to vote and is eligible to be elected.
Breakout Sessions 10:00-12:30
Democrats attending the caucus are invited to participate in any two of the breakout sessions described below (each is scheduled for one hour and will be repeated once).
Fund Raising: We need money to get the word out and to help our candidates in their election efforts. What has worked well for other towns? What turned out to be a waste of time?
GOTV: in 2010 we were trounced at the polls, and one big reason was that Republicans turned out in record numbers, whereas too many Democrats stayed home. What tools can we use to Get Out The Vote in 2014? The OFA team did a great job in 2012, but next year we’ll be on our own!
Candidate Recruitment: Is it easy in your town to fill the ballot? How can we find qualified interested candidates?
Building up Your Committee: How can we get more people involved in our activities? How to build enthusiasm in our volunteers.
We hope to see you in Milford on the 15th!
best regards,
graham
