Homemade Bomb Disabled in Milford Burglary Bust

The search of 6 Orange Street led to multiple arrests on stolen property, drugs and paraphernalia.

Milford police officers executing a search warrant of 6 Orange St. on Oct. 12 said they recovered stolen property from recent burglaries in the area, drugs and drug paraphernalia, and a suspicious metal device later determined to be a homemade explosive device.

Members of the Nashua Police Department's Bomb Squad were able to move and disable the device using an unmanned robot, police said.

As a result of the operation, police arrested and charged Kevin J. Wheeler, 26, of 6 Orange St., with receiving stolen property, a Class A Felony, possession of a controlled drug and possession of explosives, a Class B Felony. Wheeler has a probable cause hearing Oct. 22 in Milford District Court.

Three juveniles taken into custody for possession of drugs and alcohol were released to parents, police said.

As the investigation continued, police arrested and charged the following people in connection with it on Oct. 19:

  • Kimberly M Tello, 42, of 6 Orange Street, charged with possession of a controlled drug, and released on $2,500 PR Bail.
  • Jeffrey D Pollock, 43, of 6 Orange Street, charged with possession of a controlled drug (class B Felony) and Operating While a Habitual Offender (class B Felony). He was released on $25,000 PR Bail.
  • Kenneth M Martel, 33, of 104 Amherst Street, Milford, charged with possession of a controlled drug (class B Felony). He was released on $25,000 PR Bail.
  • Nathan M Obrien, 24, of 6 Orange Street, charged with possession of a controlled drug (class B Felony). He was released on $25,000 PR Bail.

Tello, Pollock, Martel, and O'Brien are scheduled to appear for arraignment in the Milford District Court on Nov. 7 at 8:30am.
