Kuster Visits Savings Bank

Roundtable discussion focused on the role community banks play in supporting their local communities.

Franklin Savings Bank President & CEO Jeffery B. Savage announced on Aug. 4, that the bank recently hosted U.S. Rep. Ann McLane Kuster, D-NH, for a visit. The trip was organized in partnership with the NH Bankers Association in support of its ongoing efforts to educate the NH Congressional delegation on the issues impacting the state’s banking industry.

“I became acquainted with Congresswoman Ann Kuster through her involvement on the Board of Directors for United Way,” said Savage. “Since then, I have met with her on several occasions in Washington and in New Hampshire to discuss critical issues affecting the community banking environment to garner her support in Congress on legislation.”

Savage steered a roundtable discussion between the Kuster and members of the bank’s management team. The conversation centered on the vital role community banks plays in their local communities through the products and services they provide to individuals and businesses, as well as the support they offer to community organizations. The congresswoman learned about some of the programs FSB offers first-time home buyers and the various types of services it provides local businesses through its business lending division. Following the discussion, the congresswoman received a tour of the bank’s main office to meet with employees.
