Milford VFW Post Seeks to Reacquire Charter
Tuesday's member meeting resulted in new officers and plan to move forward. The next meeting is scheduled for April 11.

MILFORD, NH — Members of the Milford VFW met with officials this past March 21, 2017, to hear the results of an investigation into the financial handlings of the organization, and to make decisions on how to move forward, according to Paul Lloyd, the State Adjutant. Officials are working with the national headquarters to have the charter reinstated. It had been suspended earlier this month when an investigation found inconsistencies in financial records at the post.
Though Lloyd said the financial status of the post is not strong, he was encouraged by the conversation on Tuesday, and some of the ideas that were brought forward.
“We want this to succeed,” he said.

New officers were elected at Tuesday’s meeting. Lloyd said the sale of the building may still be considered at a later time, but the current focus will be on getting the post back to being fully operational.
“They are going to be all right,” Lloyd said. “It may be a struggle for a bit, but as long as they continue to work together, the will be okay.”
