NH AG Investigating Officer Shooting in Peterborough​​

An officer reportedly shot and fatally wounded a man after a pursuit on Route 136 today.

CONCORD, NH – The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Peterborough that resulted in the death of a man this morning, according to an alert.

The incident reportedly occurred just before 10:30 a.m. on Route 136 in Peterborough following what police are calling a brief pursuit.

“The adult male who was being pursued was fatally wounded during a confrontation with police,” according to Jeffery A. Strelzin, a senior assistant Attorney General. “No police officers were physically injured during the incident.”

The individual has not yet been identified and an autopsy will be performed on June 22, 2016, to determine his exact cause of death, according to the alert. The circumstances that led to the shooting are also being investigated.
