Miller allegedly agreed to meet with an undercover ATF agent at the Holiday Inn in Tewksbury, on Highwood Drive. Miller reportedly met with and sold an assault rifle, shotgun, and more than 3,000 rounds of ammunition to the undercover agent, according to police. Miller was arrested after the sale and a loaded handgun was also located inside of his vehicle with additional ammunition.
Miller is due to be arraigned at Lowell District Court on Oct. 21.
“This was the finest example of collaboration in an effort to take weapons off the street that may otherwise have been used in the commission of violent crimes,” said Police Chief Timothy Sheehan. “The ATF was an outstanding partner in this investigation.”
