Police Eye Speed, Alcohol in Crash

A Mont Vernon man suffered series injuries in a Melendy Road accident Dec. 15.

Milford police say speed and alcohol appear to be factors in a Melendy Road accident Dec. 15 that required a Mont Vernon man to be airlifted to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Police identified the driver as Chad Cardoza, 24, of Mont Vernon.

Preliminary investigation determined Cardoza was traveling south on Melendy Road when the Toyota Tacoma truck he was driving veered off the road and struck a tree at the intersection of Ball Hill Road, police said.
