Republicans Win, Lead in All of Milford's Seats

Democratic House incumbent also defeated.

It looks like Republicans had a good day on Nov. 4, in Milford, according to the unofficial results from the Associate Press.

In the Hillsborough District 23 race, all four Republicans, including an incumbent, won their seats.

Incumbent state Rep. Shawn Sweeney topped the ticket with 2,681. Bill Goulette came in second, just 60 votes below Sweeney. Carolyn Halstead and Barbara Biggie came in third and fourth.

Incumbent Democratic state Rep. Ruth Heden, Herb Salmon, Dorothy Lindon, and Elise deMichael rounded out the bottom four.

Gary Daniels easily beat Roger Tilton for the District 11 state Senate seat, which covers Amherst, Merrimack, Milford, and Wilton, by more than 20 percent of the vote. Daniels received 12,754 votes to Tilton’s 8,515.

Republican Dave Wheeler is also leading by 7,500 votes over Diane Sheehan for the District 5 Executive Council seat, with 2 percent left to count.
