Sex Crimes Against Children on the Rise in NH
The number of complaints rose from 116 in 2010 to 178 in 2011.
New Hampshire's online crimes unit is seeing an increase in child sex cases, according to the Associated Press.
The Internet Crimes Against Children unit, formed in 1998, saw the number of child pornography complaints rise from 116 in 2010 to 178 in 2011. Nationally, ICAC units received 31,630 cyber tips in 2011, up from 23,314 in 2010.
The New Hampshire unit used to be housed in Portsmouth, but moved to Manchester last year. It includes forensic computer analysts from the Portsmouth, Rochester, Hinsdale, Concord, Hampton and Nashua police departments.
