A Manchester man was arrested early this morning for allegedly being in possession of a stolen gun missing from Milford last week, according to police.

Malik Richards, 22, of Manchester, was arrested on May 28, 2015, and charged with receiving stolen property and violation of bail conditions.

According to a press statement, two Manchester Police officers were conducting a business check at the 7-Eleven on Beech Street at a little past 2 a.m. when they saw a man seated in a pickup truck.

They recognized the man as Richards and alleged that he “continued to make furtive movements as he changed positions in the cab,” so the officers asked him to step out of the truck. Richards complied and during a pat down, was allegedly in possession of a crack pipe and switchblade knife.

The owner of the truck, a woman, who was in the store, later spoke with officers about Richards and allowed a search of the truck. The officers located a .45 caliber handgun inside the cab of the truck that was later found to be stolen from Milford on May 22.
