“The Nutcracker” leaps onto Manchester’s Palace Theatre Stage

Friday, November 29 at 7:30 p.m. is the opening performance for local performers, Kayley Lyttle, Marissa Wolf, and Sierra Horne, in “The Nutcracker” as part of the 2013-2014 Citizens Bank Performing Arts Series at The Palace Theatre.  Dancers from Southern New Hampshire Dance Theater (SNHDT) bring us on the magical journey, accompanied by a live orchestra. “The Nutcracker” continues through Sunday, December 1, 2013.

 

Kayley Lyttle is a 17 year old ballet dancer from Milford High School. She has been dancing with SNHDT for 13 years and this year she will be appearing as the Snow Queen, a Flower in Waltz of the Flowers, a Spanish Dancer and in the Dance of the Mirlitons.

16 year old, Marissa Wolf, from New Boston has been performing with SNHDT for 11 years. This year she will be performing as a Snowflake in Snow Scene, a Flower in Waltz of the Flowers, and in the Dance of the Mirlitons.

Joining Lyttle and Wolf is Sierra Horne, a 12 year old ballet dancer from Milford Middle School who will perform as a Party Girl in Act 1 and as a Candy Cane in Act 2.

 

This version of “The Nutcracker” features the only live orchestra in the state, conducted by Grammy Award winner, John McLaughlin Williams.

 

“The Nutcracker”, set in 19th Century Germany, this classic ballet begins with a charming Christmas party where their mysterious godfather, Herr Drosselmeyer gives Clara a magical toy, a Nutcracker that takes her on an unforgettable journey.
