This mandatory program is a means to help manage our water distribution system. Withdrawing water from the Town's aquifer in a controlled manner allows us to protect against seasonal fluctuation and ensure there is available water for; everyday needs, lawn watering and fire protection. The Program is as follows:
If your address is an even number -You are allowed to water your lawn on even days of the month. If your address is an odd number - You are allowed to water your lawn on odd days of the month

Lawn watering is ONLY allowed during the hours of: 5 to 9 a.m. and 5 to 9 p.m.

First time violators will receive a written warning for non-compliance, with serious repeat offenders risking disconnection of their water service and a reconnection fee. Current reconnection fees are; $62.50 during normal Monday- Friday business hours (7:00 am - 3:00 pm) and $150.00 after business hours.

Sure! It just has to be done per the day and time noted in the ODD/EVEN Day Lawn Watering Conservation Program.
Why do I see watering on the outskirts of Milford against odd/even schedules?
Properties with private wells are exempt from the ODD/EVEN Day Lawn Watering Conservation Program.
Can I water decorative plants and vegetable gardens?
Yes, if using a hose, it must be attended at all times and have a nozzle that can be fully closed when not in use. Sprinkler use is only permitted during the day and time noted in the ODD/EVEN Day Lawn Watering Conservation Program.
Can I wash off my driveway/garage/patio?
Please sweep your driveway, garage, patio instead of utilizing water on odd/even dates that correspond to your property's even/odd number.
Can I hold a fundraising car wash?
Yes, each hose must have a nozzle that can be fully closed and must remain closed unless actively washing/rinsing a vehicle or refilling a soap pail.
Can I clean my house exterior?
Yes, if using a hose or pressure washer, it must have a nozzle that can be fully closed when not in use.
