Will He Run in NH? Scott Brown Still Won't Say

The former Republican U.S. Senator from Massachusetts was in New Hampshire on Monday night.

Scott Brown made his seventh New Hampshire stop of the year on Monday, but he still wouldn't say if he's going to run for the U.S. Senate in the Granite State, where he owns a summer home.

According to the Boston Globe, Brown did not say if he plans to run for office again during his visit with the Hampstead Republican Committee. He did, however, criticize U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) for trying to raise money for her campaign based on just the threat of a Brown run.

"I think it's shameful," he said, noting that Shaheen should be "focusing on addressing the government shutdown problem."

Speculation about a Brown run for Senate in New Hampshire was revived when it was learned that he recently placed his Wrentham, MA home on the market. He owns a summer home in Rye.

Meanwhile, it appears at least some New Hampshire residents are getting tired of all of the "Will he or won't he?" talk concerning Brown's political future.

The conservative Union Leader newspaper published an editorial Tuesday with the headline "Hey, Scott Brown. Stop Flirting with NH." The editorial says that while Brown's dalliance with a potential New Hampshire run may be good for him, it's not good for the Republican Party, as all it's doing is helping Shaheen raise money for her campaign.
