5 Things to Do This Weekend

Braid a rug or cut a rug -- there's so much to do. We've counted five -- what's on your weekend to-do list?

1. Get crafty:  Catch a rug braiding demonstration at the League of NH Craftsmen Gallery, 98 Main St., Nashua on Sept. 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  It's free! Call 595-8233 for information nhcrafts.org/nashua

2. Dinner and a Movie: There's no place like Chunky's Cinema Pub for a great movie night out -- bucket car seats, long tables, full menu, beer buckets for the over 21-crowd.  Among the movies now showing: "Apollo 18," "Colombiana," "Our Idiot Brother," "The Help."

3. Nothing beats live music: Dance, little sister, dance... There's no shortage of great live music venues in downtown Nashua. This weekend, consider a night out at  Fody's Great American Tavern:

5. Sunday Dinner: It's never to late to get back to basics, and what could be more basic than planning a good old-fashioned Sunday Dinner with all the trimmings. Take some time to plan the meal and engage the kids in helping a little, then make sure everyone knows in advance that when the dinner bell rings, it's time to sit down together as a family and converse -- about last week, the coming week, hopes, dreams, knock-knock jokes. It really doesn't matter, as long as you make time for family time.
