Why are you seeking elective office?

I see a real need for sound decision making and rational, fair conversations about what's best for our city and state. We are losing the best part of democracy when we turn to fear and hate to govern.

The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

Economic instability/economic insecurity
Families all across our state are suffering as our cost of living has skyrocketed; soaring utility bills, high property taxes, and a lack of affordable housing have made it increasingly hard for families in New Hampshire to make ends meet. We need to implement policies that ensure our state remains an affordable place to live, work, and raise a family.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

While my values align more with the Democratic Party, I appreciate, understand, and welcome hearing other political perspectives. My own life experience and my time spent working as a victim's advocate has shown me that people are complicated; when we discount someone’s lived experiences, values, and ideas simply because they subscribe to a different political ideology than us, we risk undermining our democracy. I am committed to listening to perspectives and ideas that differ from mine, and I will work with both republicans and democrats to solve real problems facing our communities.

If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)

I am not a challenger.

Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform.

Funding our public education system: Our future lies within the walls of our schools. They should be funded to show that level of importance.

Protecting access to women’s health care: Bodily autonomy is a basic human right. I trust that women and families across our state can make informed health care decisions without unnecessary government intervention.

Ensuring fair and balanced elections: Democracy is at its best when we all participate. Every eligible Granite Stater should have access and the ability to vote; protecting voting rights is imperative.

Addressing climate change: We need to work together to protect our natural resources and invest wisely in affordable energy solutions.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

My work as a domestic violence victim’s advocate is a central part of my life. I have seen firsthand how the right tools and resources can lift survivors out of dangerous situations and allow them to rebuild their lives.

Advocating for survivors of domestic violence requires in-depth research into available resources, a keen understanding of local laws, a commitment to patience, and tenacity. No two survivors are the same, and every survivor I’ve worked with has challenged me to become a better communicator, a better listener, and a more empathetic version of myself.

I’m also a mom of three, so you could say I know a thing or two about diffusing conflict/managing different personalities etc.

The best advice ever shared with me was:

Don’t stand on your own side during an argument.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

While moments of respectful disagreement can be uncomfortable, those movements pave the way for true understanding and collaboration. I firmly believe in working together – regardless of party – for the betterment of all Granite Staters.
