Americans believe the system itself is broken

According to a new Gallup poll, sixty-five percent of Americans believe the system of government is not working. They have lost faith in the system itself. This is a very troubling development.

Many of us in the grass roots from multiple political perspectives have been talking about fundamental reforms, and yet the leaders in Washington maintain the status quo, and indeed continue to make things worse. The federal government is too big, too complicated, and unmanageable. Yet, it continues to grow. Our Republican system simply cannot work at this level of complexity.

So, what will President Obama do? Sign Executive Orders to go around the system as if he and his political philosophy have had nothing to do with why the system is not working. Instead of reforming the system by cutting the size and scope of government, streamlining procedures, and showing Americans that we as a people can make tough decisions for our long term future, the President has chosen just the opposite. He is doubling down on his failed central management philosophy. I see it as akin to criminal negligence.

Might the President at least speak to our concerns? No, he gives us denial and blame the other guy. No personal responsibility. How depressing.
