HUDSON, N.H. — A 14-month-old child was airlifted to a Massachusetts hospital Saturday afternoon following an apparent fall from a second-story window on Shadowbrook Drive.

Emergency responders from the Hudson Fire and Police departments dispatched to the scene immediately after receiving reports of the incident. Recognizing the potential severity of the toddler's injuries, fire officials quickly requested a Dartmouth-Hitchcock Advanced Response Team (DHART) medical helicopter.

Fire personnel established a designated landing zone on nearby Wall Street. Emergency medical responders stabilized the young child at the scene before transporting them by ambulance to the waiting helicopter.

The child was then flown by DHART to an area hospital in Massachusetts for further care. The extent of the child's injuries remains unknown at this time.

The Hudson Police Department is leading the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fall.

Thoughts are with the family, child, and first responders.
