NASHUA, NH — Nashua Fire Rescue announced Friday that Lt. Jason Lambert has died following what the department described as a battle with occupational cancer, Chief Steve M. Buxton of the Nashua Fire Department said in a statement.
Lambert joined the department on May 3, 2004, and served actively until his illness prevented him from continuing his duties. The department said he served Nashua and its residents with professionalism and dedication during his career, and that his contributions will be remembered with gratitude.
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of Lieutenant Lambert," Buxton said. "We are grateful for his years of dedicated service to Nashua Fire Rescue and the citizens of Nashua. On behalf of the department, I extend our deepest condolences to Jason's family, friends, and fellow firefighters."
Nashua Fire Rescue said it and IAFF Local 789 are coordinating with Lambert's family to provide assistance and support during this time. Service arrangements have also been set up in Maine and New Hampshire.
A wake is scheduled from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15, at Lucas and Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Road, York, ME. A service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 16, 2026, at The South Church, 292 State St., Portsmouth.
