Authorities Ask for Public's Help in Death of Nashua Man

The following is a news release:

New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster and Nashua Police Chief Andrew J. Lavoie announce that they are investigating the suspicious death of Nashua resident Craig Guillemette, who was assaulted on November 29,2014. Investigators are asking for the public’s help in determining Mr. Guillemette’s whereabouts in the overnight hours between November 29th and 30th, 2014.

Craig Guillemette, age 46, was assaulted outside of his Worcester Street apartment in Nashua sometime between 10:00 and 11:00 PM on Saturday, November 29, 2014. A few minutes after the assault, Guillemette was seen walking away from his apartment building. Guillemette was not seen again until the following day inside an apartment on Lowell Street in Nashua. He was later transported to Southern New Hampshire Regional Medical Center, and ultimately airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital where he died several days later. It is anticipated to be several additional weeks until the final autopsy report is completed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Massachusetts.

Investigators are asking for the public’s help in establishing Mr. Guillemette’s whereabouts between Saturday, November 29,2014, and Sunday, November 30, 2014. Mr. Guillemette was last seen around 10:30 to 11 :00 PM Saturday night walking southward from the comer of Worcester and Scripture Streets towards the Eagle’~ Wing function center and St. Mary’s Bank on Spruce Street. Mr. Guillemette had a thin frame, was 6’ 1” tall and weighed approximately 230 lbs. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and jeans. The surveillance photo of Mr. Guillemette accompanying this news release was taken earlier that Saturday evening prior to the assault. It shows the sweatshirt he was last seen wearing and his general appearance. Mr. Guillemette’s driver’s license photo is also attached for a clearer view of his facial features.

The annual Winter Holiday Stroll was held on Saturday, November 29,2014, on and around Main Street in Nashua. It is possible people may have see Mr. Guillemette walking through the downtown area. People may have also seen Mr. Guillemette on or near the walking path over the Nashua River near the intersections of Spruce and Temple Streets, or at the intersection of Canal Street and Nashua Drive near the parking lot for Margarita’s restaurant.

Investigators believe Mr. Guillemette did not have access to a car during this time. If anyone saw Mr. Guillemette or had any interaction with a person matching his description in Nashua between 10:30 PM on Saturday, November 29,2014, and 12:00 PM on Sunday, November 30,2014, they are encouraged to contact the Nashua Police Department at (603) 594-3500.
