NASHUA, NH — The biggest New Hampshire state liquor store ever is opening in Nashua Thursday. The 33,000-square-foot store offers over 7,000 kinds of wine and hard liquor. It will be the biggest liquor store in northern New England.

The Nashua store is located at 292 Daniel Webster Highway in a former pool store. It's expected to generate an estimated $21.5 million a year in sales.

“The opening of this (store) marks an incredible moment for the New Hampshire Liquor Commission and our 11 million annual customers," said liquor commission Chairman Joseph Mollica in a statement. "This new flagship store — NHLC’s largest to date and the largest in northern New England — is set to offer an extraordinary shopping experience with an expansive selection of products and state-of-the-art upgrades and new features. With its expanded space, enhanced shopping environment, and strategic location, we expect this new store to quickly become one of our top-performing stores, generating $21.5 million annually."

The Nashua location is "strategic," officials said, as it's located near the Pheasant Lane Mall. Over 111,000 vehicles travel on that stretch of highway a day, officials said.

The timing is right — the tax-free liquor stores attract thousands of out-of-state visitors traveling to New Hampshire for summer vacation.
