Blanket Drive at the Nashua and Merrimack YMCAs

Blanket Drive at the Nashua and Merrimack YMCAs

Again, this year the Y is helping Kieran Hummer, a third grade student at Bicentennial Elementary School in Nashua, collect new and gently used blankets. His Mom, Marion Hummer, tells us, “This is Kieran’s third year of doing this project. “ He’s collected well over 500 blankets over the past four years.
Kiernan will have a “measuring stick/tracker” to put on the wall at the Merrimack Y and Nashua Y so members can see how many blankets are being donated.
Kieran donates all blankets collected to the Nashua Soup Kitchen. Additionally, his family has taken some to NYC and distribute them at The Coalition for the Homeless.

If you can help with the blanket drive, please bring a blanket (or a few!) to the large collection boxes located in the YMCA lobbies in Merrimack and Nashua.

For more information on “Kieran’s Kovers,” you may contact Marion Hummer at goodpennstgirl@yahoo.com or at 1-603-577-1910.
