Fed: Stop Overspending for a Month...

Can the Fed just stop overspending for one month out of the year?

It seems as if people are overplaying the reductions in spending (not really cuts as there would be more spending than last year) caused by the upcoming sequestration.  Let's put this in perspective:

- The Federal govt. spending is $3.8 trillion (FY 2013).  That means the Fed spends about $10.4 billion a day (365 calendar days)

- The Federal govt. income is $2.9 trillion.  $8 billion per day.  The fed defecit is $2.4 billion per day

- The sequestation spending reduction is $85 billion.

So, if the government were to stop overspending for just 35 days, it would comply with the sequestration spending reduction.  No need to stop spending totally.  No one is looking to spend less than the income.  Just stop overspending for a little over a month....
