Federal Employees Make Important Contributions to Local Communities

Hundreds of federal employees work in Nashua, and United Way recently paid a special visit to thank some of them for their outstanding contributions that support the community.

We often hear about local businesses that support the community, and their contributions are greatly valued. They realize that a strong network of health and human services programs is important to employees and their families, and therefore, good for business. United Way of Greater Nashua partners with more than 200 companies that subscribe to this philosophy.

What we don't often hear about are the contributions of individuals who work for federal agencies in Greater Nashua. Federal employees have the opportunity to give back to their community through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), which partners with more than 20,000 non-profit organizations worldwide.

Hundreds of federal employees work in Nashua at various agencies. Recently, United Way of Greater Nashua and CFC executives visited the Nashua Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Center to personally thank employees there who made significant contributions this past year. FAA New England Regional Administrator Amy Corbett also attended, which added great recognition and value for the award recipients.

United Way and the CFC make it easy for individuals to have a positive impact in their community. When one person's donation is combined with many others, it can yield great results. Thanks to all who help make our community a better place.
