The novel is the story of a modern-day photographer who visits the Isles of Shoals off the New Hampshire coast to shoot a photo essay about a legendary murder that took place there in 1873. The film, which stars Sean Penn and Elizabeth Hurley, was directed by Kathryn Bigelow, who also directed "Zero Dark Thirty."
The discussions will be led by Southern New Hampshire University literature instructor Lisa Allen.
