Spring Possibilities

Enrich your spirit and enhance your productivity this spring by doing healthy things and discontinuing unhealthy things. Now is the time.

This is my first blog post on Nashua PATCH as my wife and I recently moved here from Portsmouth. We miss Portsmouth already but we are delighted to be living in this beautiful community, especially coming at such a beautiful time of year.

Spring is in the air and for many people that means a time to discover new possibilities. This is the time of year that people naturally come out of their winter hibernation to do something new. I'd suggest a couple of options:

  1. Build new relationships with people that have the potential to enrich your spirit and enhance your productivity.
  2. Clean your relational house of people that are dragging you down. This can be impossible with family responsibilities but all of us have other relationships that can be draining or unproductive. Move on.
  3. Get rid of junk. Physical clutter contributes to emotional clutter.
  4. Start a new outdoor hobby that gets you away from electronics and into the natural world. Lots of research supports that this will make you happier, and reduce anxiety and depression.
  5. Start a new business venture. This is the time to do it because your energy will be higher and potential customers will be most receptive to your new product or service at this time of year. Spring brings new energy.
  6. Stop doing things that are going nowhere.
  7. Make friends with a tree. Really - because trees remind us of the consistency and predictability of the universe. The appearance of new life on a tree is soothing and invigorating.
  8. Have more sex. Heck, the birds and the other creatures are doing it.

Enjoy the spring by doing healthy things and discontinuing unhealthy things.
