Man Enters Courthouse with Brass Knuckles

Due to a prior conviction, Shavam Yadav was charged as a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon.

Shivam Yadav, 20, of 105 Walnut St., Nashua, was arrested Aug. 16 by Nashua Police, charged with felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, a class B felony.

Yadav was detained at the 9th Circuit Nashua District Division Court for attempting to enter the court house with a dangerous weapon. Yadav was found to be in possession of brass knuckles. A check of Yadav’s criminal history showed that he was convicted of a felony on February 28, 2011 out of Hillsborough Superior Court South for theft by unauthorized taking or transfer a class B felony.

Nashua Police Lt. Michael Moushegian said it appears Yadav was there on business and did not think about the fact that he had the weapon in his possession.

A class B felony is punishable by up to seven years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. Shivam Yadav is being held on $300 cash bail and has an arraignment in Nashua District Court on August 17, 2012.
