Drunk Nashua Driver Strikes, Kills Motorcyclist: Police

Romivel Cruz, 27, of Nashua, was arrested Sunday night. He was also arrested for DWI in 2012.

Nashua police said a drunk driver struck and killed a motorcyclist on West Hollis Street Sunday night.

Romivel Cruz, 27, of Nashua, was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI. He was held on $50,000 bail pending an arraignment Tuesday.

Police did not immediately release the identity of the motorcyclist.

The crash happened at about 8 p.m. in the area of 722 West Hollis St. Nashua firefighters said the motorcycle burst into flames.

Police said the motorcyclist was transported to St. Joseph Hospital and later pronounced dead.

When officers arrived, Cruz exhibited obvious signs of being drunk, according to police. He’s scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
