Nashua Bomb Squad Called to High School for Bizarre Package Resembling Super Mario Block

A bizarre package mailed to Pelham High School Tuesday morning led to a response from the Nashua Bomb Squad and the cancellation of classes for the day.

The Nashua Bomb Squad examined the package and determined it was harmless. Police said the package had unusual features: the return address was the same as the mailing address and it rattled when handled. Police did not reveal what was found inside the box.

Police said they have identified the person who mailed it. It was not immediately clear if that person will be charged with a crime.

Classes were canceled as a precaution and students were dismissed at 1 p.m. Afternoon and night athletic activities were unaffected.
