Burglar Uses Victim's Car as Getaway Vehicle

Police recovered the car with stolen property – and a 16-year-old girl – inside.

Steven Malonson, 17, of 1 Ash Court, Nashua, was arrested May 22 after allegedly burglarizing a Lincoln Avenue home and then stealing the victim's car to get away.

Police were contacted at about 2:30 a.m. about a burglary on Lincoln Avenue in which the suspect was fleeing in the victim’s vehicle.

Police were able to locate Malonson driving the victim’s vehicle which contained property from the burglary. A 16-year-old female was accompanying Malonson and was also inside the stolen car when police stopped Malonson.

Malonson was taken into custody without incident and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a class A misdemeanor; and burglary, a class A felony.

The 16-year-old was charged with delinquent child: criminal liability for the conduct of another to burglary, a class A felony.

Malonson declined bail and he is awaiting his arraignment at the 9th Circuit Nashua District Division Court on May 23, 2012. A Misdemeanor Class A is punishable up to one year in jail exclusive of fines and a Felony Class A is punishable up to fifteen years in jail exclusive of fines.
